The 122nd French Notaries Congress focused on the theme “The Notary and Taxation – Clarifying, Advising, Securing”, highlighting the role of the notarial profession in addressing tax issues affecting real estate transactions and wealth planning.

The theme was selected two years in advance, illustrating the profession’s ability to anticipate societal developments and address major issues over the long term. As parliamentary debate on taxation was getting under way, the Congress provided an opportunity to examine potential changes to the tax framework and the support available to taxpayers.
At the press conference held on 10 September 2026, the Congress presented 21 proposals, reigniting discussions on how to facilitate and accelerate wealth transfers between generations.
This forward-looking approach builds on previous editions to which partners from 14 Pyramides Notaires have contributed. In 2024, Hervé de Gaudemar served as General Rapporteur for the Congress dedicated to sustainable urban planning. In 2023, Xavier Lièvre chaired the second commission, which focused on improving access to housing.
These contributions reflect 14 Pyramides Notaires’ involvement in the profession’s collective thinking and in the development of the law in response to contemporary economic, social and wealth-related challenges.
